Sedan's Austin Filtingberger recorded the longest rushing play in South Central Border (8 Man) this season in his game against West Elk last week. Filtingberger's team bested the Patriots as he sprinted for 70 yards on the play and finished with 104 in all.
Udall extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Central Christian, 58-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Tristen Wilson and Trae Gillespie gave West Elk a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Wilson threw for 86 yards and three touchdowns, while Gillespie ran for 169 yards. Wilson also contributed to the rushing game with 24 yards on the ground.
Zane Mills was the best wideout in the league this week as Sedan beat Chris Haag's team. Mills tallied two receptions for 89 yards. Nick Kimple helped Sedan's passing attack out by catching three balls for 36 yards.
Filtingberger made the biggest impact on defense this week as Mick Holt's team defeated the Patriots. The 6-foot-0 senior forced one fumble, recorded one fumble and grabbed one sack.
6-foot-4 quarterback Michael Propst of Udall is the league leader in passing yards this season with 509. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, West Elk's Gillespie has rushed for 433 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Mills. The Sedan star has 17 catches for 286 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Wyatt Williams's team and South Haven. The Eagles comes into the matchup ranked 20th in the state, while the Cardinals ranks fourth.
The Devils and the Patriots played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Devils eventually emerging with a 36-30 victory. Filtingberger threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
