Basketball Game Preview: Crawford County Eagles vs. Academy for Classical Education Gryphons

Crawford County is 4-0 against Academy for Classical Education since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Crawford County Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons at 8:00 p.m. One thing working in Crawford County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.

Last Wednesday, Crawford County was able to grind out a solid victory over Pike County, taking the game 57-44.

Crawford County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Ivey, who posted eight points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave Ivey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Walton, who earned 12 points along with five boards and three steals.

Crawford County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Academy for Classical Education came up short against Jackson on Friday and fell 61-50.

Crawford County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Academy for Classical Education, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Crawford County took their win against Academy for Classical Education when the teams last played back in February of 2022 by a conclusive 63-37.
