Smithfield faced East Providence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Sentinels put the hurt on the Townies with a sharp  10-1 victory. The Sentinels haven't had any issues with the Townies recently, as the game was their third consecutive  win against them.

Cacador was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in May of 2024.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Lily Riggin, who  went 2-for-5 with one  home run and four  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Maddie Bose, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Smithfield  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Providence only managed two  hits.
The  victory  got Smithfield back to even at 1-1. As for East Providence, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
 Smithfield has already played their next game,  a  13-1  win against Scituate on the 5th. As for East Providence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  matchup,  a  14-0  defeat against Chariho on the 8th.
