Tri hasn't had much luck against Centerville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Tri is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Tri lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Seton Catholic, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. The Titans blew past the Cardinals 10-2 on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Tri let Landen Morrow and Baylor Clements run wild. Morrow went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Clements went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Corbin May also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Tri kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Centerville fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Rushville on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-4 to the Lions. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Centerville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Alford, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Landen Schlotterbeck, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Centerville's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Tri, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Centerville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tri hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for Centerville, though, as they've only averaged .239. Will they be able to contain Tri's hitters?
Tri suffered a grim 24-0 defeat to Centerville in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
