The Garrett Railroaders were the 41-32 winner over the Angola Hornets when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Garrett fell 46-39 to Angola on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that Garrett has lost by exactly seven points.
Several Railroaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sarah Depew, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Kelsey Bergman was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Garrett struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Angola pulled down 19.
Among those leading the charge was Bailey Holman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played.
This is the second loss in a row for Garrett and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Angola, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Garrett will be playing at home against Prairie Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Prairie Heights focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday. As for Angola, they will head out on the road to face off against Norwell at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Norwell is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
