Jack Ellis and Josh Zucker made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ellis pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Zucker tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Ellis went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Zucker went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those three hits gave Zucker a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nathan Hamilton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Ryder Nelson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Holly Grove Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Holly Grove Christian's record is now 5-6. As for Salisbury Christian, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Salisbury Christian took their victory against Holly Grove Christian in their previous meeting on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Salisbury Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
