The Riley County Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 58-19 defeat at the hands of Hesston. Riley County has struggled against Hesston recently, as their contest on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Hesston was led to victory by Reed Friesen and Jackson Fry. Friesen scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, while Fry scored ten points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Fry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karter Gonzalez, who scored eight points.
Riley County's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-9. As for Hesston, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riley County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hillsboro on January 19th. As for Hesston, they will head out on the road to challenge Pratt on Tuesday.
