Even though the Clayton Comets scored an imposing 68 points on Saturday, the United Faith Christian Academy Falcons still came out on top. United Faith Christian Academy snuck past Clayton with a 72-68 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for United Faith Christian Academy.
JD Bowden continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with nine assists and two steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Isaiah Sutherland was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Justice Mitchell and Andrew Grimes certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Mitchell shot 5-for-8 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Grimes dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Grimes is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Qua'shaun Williams, who scored eight points.
United Faith Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Clayton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. United Faith Christian Academy will take on North Hills Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Hills Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 310th, while United Faith Christian Academy is ranked 22nd). As for Clayton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Corinth Holders at 7:30 p.m. Corinth Holders is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
