Jacksonville is 0-10 against the Cyclones since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jacksonville Crimsons will look to defend their home court against the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones at 7:00 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Jacksonville and five for the Cyclones.
Last Tuesday, Jacksonville came up short against the Panthers and fell 55-42.
Despite their loss, Jacksonville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Isaiah Martinez, who scored 17 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Martinez has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Milan Krusic was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart-Griffin had to suffer through a rough 72-43 loss at the hands of the Braves. While losing is never fun, Sacred Heart-Griffin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Braves are ranked eighth).
Jacksonville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, they dropped their record down to 6-14 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Jacksonville might still be hurting after the 60-37 loss they got from the Cyclones in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Will Jacksonville have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
