The Sierra Linda Bulldogs suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Washington 61-24. Sierra Linda has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sierra Linda's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sophya Goire, who scored six points along with five rebounds, and Amairany Meza who scored two points along with six rebounds.
Washington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amaya Yazzie led the charge by scoring 12 points. Zaila Lee was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Sierra Linda has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Washington, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra Linda will take on Fairfax at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Fairfax has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Washington, they will be playing at home against Buckeye at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Buckeye is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
