After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, The Monta Vista Matadors brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They really took it to Lynbrook for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-6 victory on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 23-0.
Monta Vista can attribute much of their success to Rohit Pamidi, who rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 33 yards and a touchdown.
Monta Vista's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Justin Chaahoub and his three sacks.
Monta Vista's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Lynbrook, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monta Vista will take on South San Francisco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South San Francisco is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. As for Lynbrook, they will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is on a three-game streak of home losses, Lynbrook an eight-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
