Lincoln (Tallahassee, Fla.) had a big 28-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 49-10 victory over Leon (Tallahassee, Fla.).
The Trojans scored on a touchdown pass by
Cameron Joseph to
Taj Williams, a touchdown run by
Ben Robinson, a Joseph touchdown pass to
Reggie Davis and a touchdown pass by Davis to Williams in the quarter.
Lincoln was up 35-3 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Robinson in the first quarter.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 32 entering the fourth.
With the win the Trojans extended their winning streak to six games. Lincoln defeated the Bobcats 45-7 last week.
Robinson stood out for the Trojans in the win. The senior ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
The Lions' lone touchdown came on a run in the third quarter.
Lincoln went into the matchup giving up only 12.0 points per game. Leon's 10 points were below its season average of 15.4 per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Trojans came away with a 54-28 victory.
In a 7A District 1 game next week Lincoln (6-0) takes on West Port, and Leon (1-5) will go up against Orange Park in a 6A District 3 game.
