The Alexandria Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Jena 78-29 at home. Winning may never get old, but Alexandria sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Jaylin Johnson, who scored 19 points. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Chavez Whitehead was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists.
Alexandria pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Jena, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alexandria will finish 2023 at home by hosting Rosepine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rosepine will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 164th, while Alexandria is ranked 26th). Jena will finish 2023 at home by hosting Delhi Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
