First Baptist Christian Academy's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from CJ Giles, who scored 31 points. Another player making a difference was Solomon Williams, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds.
Last Friday, Crooms Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 68-63 to First Academy. Crooms Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Crooms Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jayden Aristile scored 26 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds. Aristile scored a full 41.3% of Crooms Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of D'Elio Cestero, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
First Baptist Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Crooms Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
First Baptist Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Crooms Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2020, sneaking past 58-55.
