The Alta Hawks will square off against the West Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Alta stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Highland as Alta made off with a 34-10 win.
Alta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Cottis, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown. Wyatt Johnson also helped out with an impressive 111 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, West faced Brighton in a battle between two of the state's top teams. West walked away with a 31-24 win over Brighton on October 11th.
West can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Su'esu'e, who threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and Kelvan Malepeai, who rushed for 179 yards and a touchdown.
Alta's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.8 points per game. As for West, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Alta has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 171.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like West struggles in that department as they've been even better at 237.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Alta might still be hurting after the 53-27 defeat they got from West in their previous meeting back in September. Can Alta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
