Deposit-Hancock scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Afton 81-64. The win was just what Deposit-Hancock needed coming off of a 81-36 defeat in their prior matchup.
Blake Fortunato continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 5 assists. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Deposit-Hancock's points. Thomas Reis was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Deposit-Hancock's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Afton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deposit-Hancock will challenge Walton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Afton on the road again on Tuesday and play against Oxford Academy at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. Oxford Academy is on a four-game streak of home losses, Afton a 12-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
