The Red Mountain Mountain Lions managed to keep up with the Dobson Mustangs until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Red Mountain suffered a rough 49-28 loss at the hands of Dobson. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Red Mountain has scored all season.
Several Mountain Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Conor Doka, who scored six points.
Even though they lost, Red Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dobson only pulled down three offensive rebounds.
Dobson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Donovan Beard out in front who scored 17 points along with eight steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Zayn Young, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Red Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Dobson, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11.
Red Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dobson, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Skyline will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Dobson is ranked 83rd).
