Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Lewis Falcons walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 32-18 win over Surrattsville on Friday. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Lewis' 12-point performance the match before.
Leading Lewis to victory were Sharrod Mattox and Jaiden Prater. Mattox gained 146 total yards and two touchdowns, while Prater rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Prater was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Joseph, who rushed for 93 yards on only 11 carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lewis' defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Lamont Thomas.
Lewis has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Surrattsville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Lewis will head out on the road to face off against SEED at 11:59 a.m. on Saturday. Surrattsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
