Even though the Prattville Lions scored an imposing 67 points on Friday, the Hale County Wildcats still came out on top. Hale County secured a 71-67 W over Prattville. Given Hale County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Prattville is ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Prattville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Xavier Dunn, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Ty Bryant was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with four steals.
Hale County's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Prattville, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
Hale County is on the road again on Friday and play against Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. Northridge will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Prattville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Percy Julian at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th.
