The Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Milford Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against North Vermillion on Thursday. The Blue Devils blew past the Falcons 13-3.

Eva Ronto was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Draycee Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ella Acton also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Milford faced off against St. Anne on Wednesday. The Bearcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 14-0 shutout. The Bearcats haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Like Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, Milford also got a great game from a two-way player: Kami Muehling. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Muehling was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Addison Lucht was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one double. Madisyn Laffoon was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Milford pushed their record up to 11-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, their record is now 11-12.
Everything went Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin's way against Milford in their previous meeting back in March, as Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin made off with a 14-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
