If Poland were riding high off their 32-0 takedown of Old Orchard Beach last week, that ride came to an abrupt end. Poland didn't finish too far behind, but the squad still lost 29-33 to Winthrop/Monmouth Academy on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Poland of the 0-19 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head. The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 2-2.
Next week Poland take on Spruce Mountain at 7:00 PM. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend. Winthrop/Monmouth Academy will stay at home against Maranacook at 7:00 PM. The team will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
