Kameron Battle produced another solid effort rushing for 298 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also picking up 49 receiving yards. Those 298 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Myles Mcdonald, who threw for 254 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Carrollwood Day proved: they limited Lakeland Christian to a paltry two yards per carry. While two picked up at least five total tackles, DJ WIlliams stood above the rest. He picked up 97 receiving yards and one score. That's the most yards per carry they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Neumann unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Community School of Naples by a score of 38-35. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Celtics, who until this matchup were averaging 14.67 points allowed.
Loss or not, Neumann got some senior leadership from Jayden Petit and Peyton Frontino. Petit picked up 301 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Frontino threw for 345 yards and four TDs while picking up 14.4 yards per attempt. Those 345 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Frontino.
Carrollwood Day's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Neumann, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Carrollwood Day has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 335 rushing yards a game.
