The Northeast Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Sycamore War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast will be strutting in after a win while Sycamore will be coming in after a defeat.
It was a classic East v. West duel when Northeast duked it out with West Creek on Monday. The Eagles blew past the Coyote 8-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Isaiah Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Northeast: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 8-13 otherwise. Robinson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jackson Meece was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Jamarion Green, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Northeast kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.6.
Meanwhile, Sycamore suffered their closest loss since March 18th on Monday. They fell just short of Creek Wood by a score of 3-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Owen McMahan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Sycamore saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bradley Hudgens, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Northeast pushed their record up to 10-14 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sycamore, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.
Northeast suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Sycamore when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
