The Silver Creek Raptors will be playing at home against the Berthoud Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep alive their perfect three-game seasons.
Silver Creek has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 24 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Peak to Peak with a sharp 68-44 win on Tuesday.
Silver Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gabe Selby led the charge by scoring 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The matchup was Selby's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Schmeeckle, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Berthoud at home against Brush on Tuesday as the squad secured a 73-36 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Berthoud to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Erickson, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Reece Stratmeyer, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds.
Their wins bumped Silver Creek to 3-0 and Peak to Peak to 1-1.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Silver Creek have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Berthoud struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
