Basketball Game Preview: Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors vs. Highland Trojans

Hammond Bishop Noll and Highland are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors will take on the Highland Trojans in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hammond Bishop Noll, who comes in off a win.

Hammond Bishop Noll is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest last Friday with ease, bagging a 78-25 victory over Calumet New Tech. With Hammond Bishop Noll ahead 51-17 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Hammond Bishop Noll had a senior duo take command as Mackenzie Hamer went 8 of 14 on her way to 18 points and five steals and Quinn Fehr went 6 of 8 on her way to 16 points and five steals. That's the most steals Fehr has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of M'Aliyah Lewis, who posted 11 points and seven assists.

Hammond Bishop Noll smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Highland suffered their biggest loss since November 9th on Saturday. They came up short against Hammond Morton, falling 72-52. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Governors are ranked 44th).

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-6.

Hammond Bishop Noll was taken down by Highland 49-20 when the teams last played back in January. Can Hammond Bishop Noll avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
