After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Legend, the Chaparral Wolverines were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 59-30 victory over Heritage. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Chaparral considering their 18-point performance the matchup before.
Leading Chaparral to victory were Lauren Thompson and Reagan Lentell. Thompson almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, while Lentell scored 21 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lentell has scored all season. Maddie Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
When it comes to explaining why Heritage lost, one person who can't be blamed is Avalon Lux-offermann. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Caelan DeBolt, who scored seven points.
Chaparral has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Heritage, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaparral will take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ponderosa is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Heritage, they will be playing at home against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Regis Jesuit presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Colorado (the Raiders are ranked seventh, while the Eagles are ranked 176th).
