Winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 39% better than the opposition, a fact the Buchholz Bobcats proved on Monday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 71-20 win over Leon. The team accrued 59 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
It was another big night for Jamison Cardwell, who scored 23 points. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor Booth, who scored 14 points.
Leon's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tanner Owens, who scored eight points, and Mary grace Parker who scored eight points along with two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Buchholz and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for Leon, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.
Buchholz will take on Gainesville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Buchholz has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Leon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
