Chatham HomeSchool is 1-9 against Greater Cabarrus S since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Chatham HomeSchool Thunder will square off against the Greater Cabarrus S Stallions at 8:15 p.m. Chatham HomeSchool is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.1 points per game this season.
Last Saturday, Chatham HomeSchool came up short against Southeastern HomeSchool and fell 53-44. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 121st).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Parker Teague, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Driscoll, who put up 11 points.
Meanwhile, Greater Cabarrus S came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Cougars, posting a 58-22 victory. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Greater Cabarrus S' win came from a few key players Chatham HomeSchool will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Xavier DeLeeuw, who had 13 points. Teddy Helton III was another key player, putting up 15 points.
Chatham HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 24-14. As for Greater Cabarrus S, their win bumped their record up to 21-9.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Chatham HomeSchool hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 61.1 points per game. However, it's not like Greater Cabarrus S struggles in that department as they've been averaging 62.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Chatham HomeSchool came up short against Greater Cabarrus S in their previous meeting back in January, falling 70-57. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Helton III, who scored 20 points. Now that Chatham HomeSchool knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
