The Newark Norsemen scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Earlville 61-21 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-11.
When it comes to explaining why Earlville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Madyson Olson. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points. Olson scored a full 66.7% of Earlville's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Newark's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Earlville, they bumped their record down to 3-15 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Newark will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hinckley-Big Rock at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th. Earlville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Somonauk/Leland at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
