The Walsh Eagles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 29-14 win over Briggsdale. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Walsh was the (much) better team in the second half.
Leyton Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 206 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Jones was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards.
Walsh is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Briggsdale, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.
Walsh will head out on the road to face off against Idalia at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Idalia knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Walsh likes a good challenge. Briggsdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
