Leipsic is a perfect 5-0 against Riverdale since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Vikings will head out to square off against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m.

Leipsic blew Van Buren out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Van Buren got their revenge. The Vikings fell just short of the Black Knights by a score of 6-4.

Leipsic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Schroeder, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another was Aaron Hazelton, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverdale). Everything went their way against Waynesfield-Goshen on Friday as they made off with a 15-5 victory. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Grady Phelps, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Evan Reiter was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Riverdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Leipsic now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Riverdale, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Leipsic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Riverdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Leipsic took their win against Riverdale when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
