The Belmont Braves were the 47-43 winner over the Albany Comets when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Belmont suffered a tough 53-31 defeat at the hands of Albany on Thursday. Belmont has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Braves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carter Kettler, who scored 16 points. Kettler scored a full 51.6% of Belmont's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Logan Hardyman was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 6 rebounds.
Belmont's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Albany, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belmont will take on Monticello at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Albany, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Barneveld at 7:30 p.m.
