The Walsh Jesuit Warriors were the 58-45 winner over the Lake Catholic Cougars when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Walsh Jesuit fell just short of Lake Catholic by a score of 46-44. Walsh Jesuit has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Lake Catholic to victory were Cross Nimmo and Ace Peterlin. Nimmo scored 11 points along with nine rebounds, while Peterlin scored 18 points.
Walsh Jesuit now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Lake Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walsh Jesuit will square off against Euclid at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Euclid is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Lake Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Villa Angela-St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. Averaging 68.8 so far this season, Villa Angela-St. Joseph's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Lake Catholic better be ready for a challenge.
