The USC-MAE Trojans waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Central City Value 37-35. That's another feather in the cap for USC-MAE, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Central City Value's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angel Marcial, who scored 18 points along with two steals. That was a full 51.4% of Central City Value's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Leonel Chavez, who scored three points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks.
USC-MAE has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Central City Value, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
