Baseball Recap: Constitution Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Constitution ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Prep Charter Huskies, sneaking past 18-17. The victory continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won three in a row.

Constitution let Nick Post and Jayden Gordy run wild. Post got on base in five of his six plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Gordy got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Constitution is undefeated when Post posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Anastasio, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Constitution always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .634 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Constitution now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Prep Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Constitution has already played their next match, a 21-11 win against Roxborough on the 1st. As for Prep Charter, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Saul at 2:45 p.m.
