Gary Nova announced via Twitter on Monday morning: he will play for Rutgers beginning this fall. The 6-2, 210-pound senior signal-caller originally committed to Pittsburgh, but the coaching turmoil there combined with former Panther assistants Frank Cignetti and Jeff Hafley – who recruited Nova at their previous stop — joining Greg Schiano's Scarlet Knight staff caused the star to change his mind.

Nova could play right away at Rutgers with former blue-chip quarterback Tom Savage recently announcing his plans to transfer. Moreover, it makes you wonder whether other top Garden State recruits will join him and Long Branch athlete Miles Shuler.

Shilque Calhoun, committed to Michigan State, choosing the Spartans over West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Rutgers. He visited the Big Ten school at its homecoming game Oct. 16.
