Carver A&T has gone a perfect 5-0 against Dundalk recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Wildcats will host the Owls at 4:00 p.m.
On Thursday, Carver A&T didn't have quite enough to beat Perry Hall and fell 7-6. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Gators recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Haleigh Frye and Mia McGarvey stepped up to the plate in a big way. Frye scored a run while going 3-for-4, while McGarvey went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that McGarvey hit this season.
Meanwhile, Dundalk entered their tilt with Lansdowne on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 23-6 win. The game marked the Owls' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Dundalk got a massive performance out of Makayla Woods, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave Woods a new career-high in RBI (four). Another player making a difference was Justice Smith, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Dundalk was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Dundalk's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Carver A&T, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Carver A&T has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dundalk struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Carver A&T was able to grind out a solid victory over Dundalk when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 6-1. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Owls have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
