The Fernandina Beach Pirates scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by KIPP Bold City at home to the tune of 65-26. Winning may never get old, but Fernandina Beach sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Fernandina Beach got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Julianna Miller out in front who scored 15 points along with nine assists and six steals. Miller is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Naslynn Morris, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Fernandina Beach has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for KIPP Bold City, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fernandina Beach will take on Matanzas at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Matanzas is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. KIPP Bold City will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Calvary Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on February 1st.
