Rock Canyon has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Overland Trailblazers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Rock Canyon escaped with a win against Chatfield by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54.
Rock Canyon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooke Harding, who scored 15 points along with five assists. The matchup was Harding's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sienna Pillsbury, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Overland put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 83-25 win over Englewood. With Overland ahead 52-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Rock Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Overland, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Rock Canyon against Overland in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 68-28 win. With Rock Canyon ahead 40-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
