The Potomac Wolverines pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between them and Largo wasn't particularly close, with Potomac falling 73-57. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Potomac in their matchups with Largo: they've now lost five in a row.
It was another big night for Cameron Ward, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 17 rebounds for Largo. That makes it six consecutive games in which Ward has scored at least a third of Largo's points. Another player making a difference was Jalen Johnson, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Potomac's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Largo, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Potomac will face off against Friendly at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Friendly has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 209 points over their last three matches. As for Largo, they will head out on the road to square off against Fairmont Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Fairmont Heights' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
