Central Davidson is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Oak Grove is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Central Davidson Spartans will take on the Oak Grove Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Central Davidson was able to grind out a solid victory over North Davidson, taking the game 28-20.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard last Thursday. They claimed a resounding 49-7 win over Montgomery Central at home. Given Oak Grove's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Montgomery Central is ranked 286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Karson Williams was his usual excellent self, rushing for 201 yards and five touchdowns on only eight carries. Landon Craddock made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Central Davidson now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Oak Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Central Davidson couldn't quite finish off Oak Grove in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 and fell 16-14. Will Central Davidson have more luck at home instead of on the road?
