Forest extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region 6 this week by beating Morton, 44-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
McLaurin and St. Andrews Episcopal played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with McLaurin eventually emerging with a 15-12 victory. Eric McGee ran for 222 yards in the win.
Raleigh's dynamic duo of Tiberious Ellis and Isaiah Pugh proved tough for Madison to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ellis threw for 306 yards and six touchdowns and Pugh had 150 yards receiving. Lee wes Ely helped Raleigh's passing attack out by catching three balls for 96 yards.
5-foot-6 quarterback Jymier Slocum of the Panthers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1750. He has also thrown 17 touchdowns. On the ground, the Tigers' McGee has rushed for 1340 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tanner Menist. The St. Andrews Episcopal star has 60 catches for 815 yards.
McLaurin's Corderius Davis needs only 92 yards against Franklin County next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Davis has rushed for 908 yards on 115 carries so far this year.
Forest made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,009 from 3,376. The advance stemmed from a 44-13 victory over Morton last week.
