The Washington County Bulldogs won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 63-26 loss at the hands of Chickasaw. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Washington County in their matchups with Chickasaw: they've now lost nine in a row.
Chickasaw's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyree Shakur, who scored 14 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shakur has scored all season. Larry Weaver-Martin was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Washington County has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Chickasaw, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Clarke County the next time they take the court. Washington County will head out to face Clarke County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Chickasaw will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
