The Bainbridge Spartans will challenge the North Mason Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bainbridge comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Bainbridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 25-3 to Kingston last Thursday.
Bainbridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby George, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That hit was George's first of the season.
Meanwhile, North Mason got themselves on the board against Vashon Island on Saturday, but Vashon Island never followed suit. They blew past the Pirates 19-0. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.
Aubrey Dunham was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Dunham was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI.
In other batting news, North Mason got a massive performance out of Sydnnie Imlay, who scored four runs while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Crowley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
North Mason always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vashon Island only posted an OBP of .211.
The win made it two in a row for North Mason and bumps their season record up to 4-2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games. As for Bainbridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Bainbridge was able to grind out a solid win over North Mason when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 9-5. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
