Carrollton put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They beat the Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg Trojans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 9-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2021.
Lauren Flowers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Hannah Uhles was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanna Holmes, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Carrollton pushed their record up to 31-0 with the victory, which was their 37th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.
