Basketball Recap: Colonial Christian Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Colonial Christian duked it out withCrosspointe Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Colonial Christian Cougars were outmatched by the Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers and fell 78-36. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the defeat, Colonial Christian had strong showings from Ronin Young, who posted seven points in addition to eight boards and three blocks, and Clayton Gannon, who had 11 points. Young is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played.

Crosspointe Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Coltenn Wagner, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Phil Fitzsimmons, who went 10 of 13 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds.

Colonial Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Colonial Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-20 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 10th. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-47 defeat against Indiana Math & Science Academy North on the 5th.
