If the Credo Gryphon were feeling good off their 55-26 takedown of the Tomales Braves on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Credo took a serious blow against Fall River on Thursday, falling 72-37. While losing is never fun, Credo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 517th, while Fall River is ranked 193rd).
Fall River's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaxon Keys, who scored 18 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Brown, who scored 17 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals.
Credo's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Fall River, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Credo will take on Modoc at 2:15 p.m. on Friday. Modoc is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Fall River won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Loyalton at 8:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Loyalton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
