Virginia Episcopal School has won four straight games at home, while North Cross has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Bishops will welcome the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Virginia Episcopal School is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Virginia Episcopal School made easy work of Fishburne Military and carried off an 18-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bishops in their matchups with the Caissons: they've now won four in a row.

Jaxon Godsie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nate Gobble, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Virginia Episcopal School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while North Cross put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for The Covenant. The Raiders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted since March 21st.
Not much got past Tristan Lange, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep The Covenant off the board. Lange has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ryan Thomas was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
North Cross' victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Virginia Episcopal School, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Virginia Episcopal School has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like North Cross struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Virginia Episcopal School beat North Cross 7-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Bishops have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
