The West Greene Pioneers are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Bentworth Bearcats at 3:45 p.m. on December 27th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
West Greene might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 61-37 to Cameron, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Meanwhile, Bentworth's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 80-46 loss at the hands of Fort Cherry. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bentworth in their matchups with Fort Cherry: they've now lost three in a row.
Bentworth's loss came about despite a quality game from Ben Hays, who scored 24 points along with four steals. The game was Hays' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Christopher Harper, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.
West Greene's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for Bentworth, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
West Greene was able to grind out a solid victory over Bentworth when the teams last played back in January, winning 72-62. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Bentworth's Landon Urcho, who scored 37 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Now that he won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for West Greene to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
