The last time they met ? Longmeadow were the 29-6 winner over Minnechaug Regional. This time around? They had no such luck. On Friday, Longmeadow were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 21-25 to Minnechaug Regional. The defeat was a vexing one since Longmeadow were expected to win based on their state ranking. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Longmeadow off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Minnechaug Regional a 1-0 record.
Next week Longmeadow take on West Springfield at 7:00 PM. As for Minnechaug Regional, they will face off against Chicopee Comp.
